Begin anywhere.

"Begin anywhere." — John Cage

WORTH KNOWING TODAY

Psychologists at the University of Pennsylvania call it the fresh start effect: people are more likely to pursue meaningful change after natural landmarks in time (a new week, a new month, a birthday, a morning). The date itself has no magic. What matters is the line it draws. Yesterday belongs to yesterday. Today gives the mind permission to begin again.

TODAY’S ANCHOR

Peace — After waking up in the morning, walk or sit outside for twenty minutes. Let the day reach you before you reach for the world.

Stability — The most reliable predictor of consistent exercise is not motivation but a specific time and place. Today, block time on your calendar to work out.

Expression — Write your thoughts down in a notebook for ten minutes. No editing, no agenda. Just what is in your head.

REFLECTION

What is holding you back from a change you want in your life?

TODAY’S WILDCARD

Most people are dehydrated before they feel thirsty. Drink a full glass of water right now, before coffee, before food, before anything else. Your brain is roughly 75% water and even mild dehydration measurably impairs focus and mood.
